Privacy Policy for Pinduo Lens

This Privacy Policy describes how the mobile application Pinduo Lens (Tap Translate Screen) (“the App”) processes information. The App is developed and published by Damik Dreams (“we”, “us”, “our”).

We respect your privacy. The App is designed to work primarily on your device and does not collect, store or sell personal data beyond what is necessary for basic functionality and advertising.

1. What the App Does

Pinduo Lens is an on-screen translator that:

• Shows a floating button over other apps;
• Takes a screenshot of the selected screen area via Android’s MediaProjection API;
• Recognizes text in the selected area using Google ML Kit Text Recognition (on-device);
• Translates recognized Chinese text into your chosen language using Google ML Kit Translation (on-device models where available);
• Optionally converts prices in Chinese yuan (CNY) to your local currency using a rate you enter manually inside the App.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

We do not:

• Store screenshots or recognized text on our own servers;
• Collect names, phone numbers, addresses, or contact lists;
• Track your precise GPS location;
• Sell any data to third parties.

3. Data Processed by the App

The App processes some data locally on your device to provide its core functions:

• Screenshots and selected screen area: when you tap “Highlight” and select an area, the App captures that area as an image to recognize text. This image is used only for OCR and translation and is not sent to our own servers.
• Recognized text: text extracted from the screenshot is processed for translation and price conversion. It is not stored on our servers.
• Local settings: your selected country, currency code, and manually entered CNY exchange rate are stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences, so you do not need to enter them every time.

4. Permissions

To work correctly, the App requests the following Android permissions:

• Draw over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): used to show the floating “Highlight” button and the top translation panel above other applications.
• Foreground service & MediaProjection: required to capture the screen content you select for text recognition.
• Internet access: used for loading advertisement content from Google AdMob and (in future versions, if enabled) may be used to update currency rates from public sources. In the current version, the exchange rate is entered manually by the user.

5. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services that may collect information according to their own privacy policies:

• Google Mobile Ads (AdMob): used to display interstitial advertisements. AdMob may collect device identifiers, approximate location, and other data for the purpose of showing and measuring ads.
• Google ML Kit (Text Recognition & Translation): used to perform OCR and language translation. These services are normally executed on-device; model downloads may require network access.

6. Advertising and Frequency

The App shows interstitial ads after some successful operations (e.g. translation or price conversion), with a minimum time interval between ad impressions. This is done to reduce intrusive behavior and comply with best practices for user experience.

Ads are provided by Google AdMob. You may receive personalized or non-personalized ads depending on your device settings and Google account configuration.

7. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe that a child has provided personal data through the App, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Data Retention

We do not store your translations or screenshots on our own servers. Local settings (such as currency and exchange rate) remain on your device until you uninstall the App or clear its data in the Android system settings.

9. Your Choices

• You can revoke overlay or screen capture permissions at any time in the Android system settings.
• You can reset the App’s local data (including currency and rate) by clearing the App’s storage in system settings.
• You can stop using the App and uninstall it at any time.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this address. Continued use of the App after changes are published means you accept the updated Policy.
